lucy savage
Born in 1994, Savage grew up in the quiet, rural and eccentric surroundings of the Isle of Man, a small island in the Irish Sea. As a teenager Savage took life drawing classes at The IoM College and immediately fell in love with drawing the figure. Themes of anatomy have influenced her work ever since. 
Savage went on to study 3D Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London where her work focused on materiality as she built sculptures and installations using sheep’s wool, horse mane and human hair.
In 2018 she was awarded one third recipient of The Hesketh Hubbard Bursary at The Mall Galleries in London, funding a year of life drawing classes. Now she is a member of The Hesketh Hubbard Art Society which is a group of trained draughtsman exhibiting in London at The Mall Galleries. The society often comment on her energetic style of drawing which inspired her to start live life drawing events in which the public could see how she captures such movement in her lines.
In 2019 she was awarded a bursary by The Isle of Man Arts Council giving her the opportunity to take up residency at 401 Studios, South London where she continues to refine her draughtsmanship.
