As a transracial adoptee, I juxtapose themes regarding my identity. I work with a duality of Eastern and Western themes. I am interested in a narrative that bears a cultural, social, and symbolic weight. Throughout my work I portray symbolic motifs that are significant to my experiences. I utilize paint, printmaking, and drawing to convey my ideas. Aesthetically, I draw from traditional Chinese and Renaissance techniques. I am working with the fusion of contemporary and traditional. I want to explore historical context and culturally significant topics related to my upbringing.
